A bearded woman opened herself to her search for love when her husband revealed that he was certain she would be the one to reject him.
Little Bear Schwartz, 36, from Seattle, and Tobias Bradick, 45, were friends for a year before placing a Facebook status that appealed to potential lovers who might want to date her.
Tobias admitted that initially when he sent her a message, he suspected she would reject him and said, "I thought she would be grateful but not creepy."
Little Bear, who appeared this morning to tell about her love story, has been suffering from polycystic ovarian syndrome since the age of fourteen, causing excessive hair growth.
Little Bear Schwartz has found love with her now-man Tobias Bradick, 45 years old. The couple were friends for a year before responding to her Facebook message appealing to potential worshipers
The couple, who are now married and have a polyamorous relationship, opened the struggle that Little Bear had with her self-confidence.
From the age of fourteen she started & # 39; surplus & # 39; noticing hair growth on her face and chest, and although she went to specialized doctors, she was never sure what caused it.
She spent the next 16 years, & # 39; trying to hide it & # 39; and only shaved her face and chest in the shower to avoid the deep shame of being hairy.
It took the Little Bear years to accept her bearded face, while telling the presenters Ruth and Eammon: & My younger years were very difficult. I had this hair and nobody could tell me or help me where it came from. & # 39;
Little Bear told This Morning presenters Ruth and Eamonn that she had many people who wanted to date her – but that they had to be able to deal with the & # 39; stigma & # 39; dating a bearded woman
Tobias admitted that he was initially nervous about reporting Little Bear because he thought she would reject him
She said: & # 39; Nobody said I could just grow it, it wasn't presented as an option. & # 39;
But when she turned 31, she moved to Seattle and decided not to shave in the progressive setting.
She discovered a new confidence after the move and revealed: & I found a flyer for a beard competition and I thought I might make this lucrative. I entered a beard competition and I won. & # 39;
Now she says the beard is her & # 39; star function & # 39; but admitted that it was difficult to find someone who really loved.
Little Bear struggled to accept her beard and would shave her face every morning in the shower for years
WHAT IS POLYCYSTIC OVING SYNDROME?
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition that affects the functioning of a woman's ovaries.
The three most important functions of PCOS are:
- Irregular menstruation – this means that the ovaries do not regularly release eggs (ovulation). This can affect a woman's ability to become pregnant.
- Excessive androgen – high levels of & # 39; male hormones & # 39; in the body, which can cause physical signs such as excessive facial or body hair.
- Polycystic ovaries – the ovaries are enlarged and contain many fluid-filled blisters (follicles) that surround the eggs (it is important to note that despite the name, if you have PCOS, you do not have cysts).
She revealed: & # 39; I had no trouble finding people so far, but I needed to be sure that it was someone who wasn't afraid to be seen with me, or the potential stigma of the man being a bearded woman dates. & # 39;
Eighteen months after a bad break-up, she set up a post on Facebook, attractive to potential lovers.
And after she helped her move, Tobias admitted that he immediately fell for her.
He told Eamonn and Ruth: & # 39; She was always such a sincere, loving person. She is very real, she is not fake. She is the kind of person I want to get to know. & # 39;
But he revealed that he was nervous about approaching her, and said that when he sent her a message saying he was interested in getting to know her, he thought he would be rejected.
He revealed: & # 39; I thought she would say "thanks, but stop being creepy". But we just clicked and started to spend time together. & # 39;
The couple admitted it could be difficult, with Little Bear revealing: & # 39; People are staring. I wish I could tell you it wasn't a problem and that I could just ignore them.
& # 39; I stare at it, I get laughed at, people try & # 39; make discreet & # 39; photos & # 39; s of me. And to be honest, it hurts. & # 39;
Little Bear, who suffers from polycystic ovaries that cause excessive hair growth, revealed that she is still struggling with negativity on social media
The couple, who have a polyamorous marriage, also revealed that if Little Bear feels uncomfortable with people staring in public, they try to ignore it by kissing
Man Tobias said that he tries to be as supportive as possible in those circumstances.
He admitted: & # 39; Sometimes groups of creepy people come to her social media and send her death threats. If we are in public and she feels uncomfortable, I'm just telling you to come and kiss me.
& # 39; I think it says a bit: & # 39; Hey, don't mess her around with someone & # 39;. & # 39;
