Considered one of the BBC’s most gripping programmes to date, it follows a group of London bankers as they navigate the fast-paced financial sector.

But British fans of the much-loved BBC and HBO financial drama Industry have been left furious after the third season began airing in the US and not the UK.

The third season debuted in the United States on August 11, with the remaining episodes airing every Sunday night through September 29.

As a result, UK fans have been expressing their disappointment at having to wait for season three on X.

One fan recently wrote: ‘I’m more than a little annoyed that, living in the UK, I still can’t watch this joint BBC/HBO show, written by two Brits, with a 75 per cent British cast and I have to wait until an unspecified time for the BBC to air it.’

Another fumed: “Imagine my surprise when I found out that season 3 is already airing in the US, but not here in the UK. It’s literally a BBC show.”

A third added: “I can’t believe Industry, a London-set show with so many British actors, premiered in the US two months before it did in the UK. We’ve been binge-watching America for Succession, but not this? If I see spoilers, HBO, you pay.”

Following the furious backlash from fans, the BBC confirmed to FEMAIL that the third season will hit UK screens next month, once all episodes have finished airing in the US.

A BBC spokesperson told MailOnline: “The third season of Industry will arrive on BBC iPlayer and BBC One early next month. UK viewers can catch up on the first two seasons on BBC iPlayer now.”

The first season of Industry aired in the UK and US simultaneously, with the first episode airing a day later in the UK in November 2020.

Set in the heart of Canary Wharf, the show centres on a group of ambitious young graduates and their attempts to forge a career in the fast-paced and cutthroat world of investment banking.

In season three, Pierpoint looks to the future and makes a big bet on ethical investing as the company becomes involved with Lumi, a green-tech energy company.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harrington takes the reins of the company, playing British aristocrat Lord Henry Muck, described as the embodiment of “old money” privilege.

Yasmin (Marisa Abela), Robert (Harry Lawtey) and Eric (Ken Leung) will take center stage in Lumi’s IPO.

Meanwhile, since leaving Pierpoint, Harper (Myha’la) is eager to return to the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig (Sarah Goldberg).

The show, created, written and executive produced by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, is a Bad Wolf production for HBO and the BBC.

British fans were left in the lurch for the second season, waiting almost two more months for the release, according to Virgin Radio.

It’s a scheduling departure the show has followed for its third season, as the BBC has not confirmed a specific date for Industry season three to hit UK screens, despite it currently airing in the US.

As the series continues to feature steamy scenes, the BBC has decided not to air a scene showing an erect penis amid the sex scandals involving its presenters.

In the first episode of the third season, viewers were able to see the organ of Charles Hanani, the father of the main character Yasmin, played by Marisa Abela.

Charles is his multi-millionaire conman father, played by RADA-trained actor Adam Levy, 53.

The first two minutes of the first episode show him having sex on his yacht with a blonde woman, but the BBC has confirmed it has decided not to use that explicit version.

In October 2022, HBO announced it had renewed Industry for a third season, with star Myha’la Herrold, who plays Harper, gushing, “You guys made this… Thank you so much for watching our show and sending us so much love.”

“I can’t wait to bring you more from @industryhbo. Season 3 is here!”

Creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay previously teased in a Discord chat that they had “a really good idea for season 3.”

“We had one rule: We had to burn through our best plot ideas as quickly as possible,” Kay said of the second season.

“Don’t hold anything back. Every episode should feel like an ending. We hate how slow most modern TV is.”

‘Industry reached new heights in season two, cementing its status as a breakout hit with addictive storytelling, complex characters, breakneck pacing and sharp observations about the dynamics of the contemporary workplace,’ said HBO senior vice president of programming Kathleen McCaffrey. We are incredibly proud of what Mickey and Konrad, Jami O’Brien, Jane Tranter and the Bad Wolf team, along with our entire cast and crew, accomplished.

“We couldn’t be more excited to continue our journey with them in season three.”
