This Morning viewers slammed Blue for 'miming' as they prepare for comeback tour after Lee Ryan avoided jail following racially aggravated assault on BA stewardess

This Morning viewers slammed Blue for miming when they appeared on Friday’s show.

The noughties boyband have reunited for a 2024 Greatest Hits Tour, starting next month, to celebrate two decades together.

However, Blue later shared behind-the-scenes footage of them rehearsing the medley, which showed them singing live.

The comeback comes after Lee Ryan, 40, avoided jail following his racially aggravated assault on a black British Airways stewardess, to whom he said: ‘I want your chocolate babies’.

Lee was given a 12-month suspended sentence in September after attacking Leah Gordon and behaving violently towards her, after pleading guilty to being drunk on the plane, which he was given a four-month sentence for driving at the same time . .

During their performance on Friday’s show, fans were left unimpressed and accused Blue of miming to the medley instead of singing live.

After announcing a hiatus in 2004, Duncan, Antony, Lee and Simon released their first compilation album, Best Of Blue.

The group first reunited in January 2011 and represented Great Britain in that year’s Eurovision Song Contest, coming 11th after a performance of I Can in Düsseldorf.

They went on to release two more studio albums, their fourth Roulette in 2013 and their fifth Colors in 2015.

In 2013, they joined groups including Liberty X, Atomic Kitten and 5ive to give a one-off concert as part of The Big Reunion.

When their tour was due to begin, it was pushed back after band member Lee was arrested after behaving in an ‘intimidating’ and ‘crazy’ manner during a flight from Glasgow to London City Airport.

He was sentenced to 12 months probation.

Passing sentence at Isleworth Crown Court, His Honor Judge Nicholas Wood told Ryan he was lucky to avoid an immediate custodial sentence – adding that the sentence was suspended because of the remorse he had shown and because of the singer’s psychological state.

The judge told Ryan: ‘You brought shame on yourself for this. I think you are aware of that’.

He added: ‘The language you used may be acceptable in the entertainment industry, but it has no place on a flight managed by cabin crew.’

But in explaining his reasons for not giving Ryan a custodial sentence, the judge said he was influenced by a series of psychological reports which detailed the singer’s mental state.

These showed that he has been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder; Post-traumatic stress syndrome; Dyslexia; ADHD and also struggles with alcohol abuse.

A psychologist also claimed that Ryan was prone to risky behavior and also had a lack of insight into how to deal with ‘personal dynamics.’

Judge Wood said: ‘If he (Ryan) did not have these (disorders) he would have been better able to interpret the situation that he should not have boarded a plane drunk.

‘Suffering from these infirmities and ailments has reduced your guilt.’

The judge said he had also given Ryan a suspended sentence because he believed the incident had “brought him to his senses.”
