Media personality Matty Mills began working for Luhrmann as his executive assistant in 2020, while he was directing his latest film, Elvis, in Queensland.

While the concert had many perks, including the chance to rub shoulders with movie stars, it’s an experience Matty hopes to never repeat.

“That job, for me, was very hard. It was so exhausting, so hard, but equally rewarding,” he explained on the Not so PG podcast.

“It was never a dream of mine to be someone’s executive assistant, but the respect… that I have for people who do that kind of work… is just so much.”

Of his demanding schedule, Matty said: “I was the first one up on our team and the last one to go to bed.” I was the person who woke Baz up in the morning and the person who said goodnight to him at night.’
