Harry Kane exposed Jamie Carragher as a liar on American television in a humorous post-match interview following their Champions League victory on Tuesday.

The England captain scored twice as Bayern Munich overturned a 1-0 first-leg defeat by Lazio to advance to the quarter-finals 3-1 on aggregate.

The former Liverpool player had said before the match that he had spoken to Kane to inspire him to victory in the Champions League last 16, but Kane quickly denied this.

CBS Sports host Kate Abdo began the post-match interview by addressing Kane. “Before we do anything, I think we should clear it up, because Jamie said before the game that he called you and spoke to you this week. Is that true or false?

‘That’s false,’ Kane responded, prompting hysterical laughter from Carragher in the studio.

In a post-match interview, Kane jokingly accused Jamie Carragher of lying about a conversation.

Carragher stated that they were “Twitter friends”, leading Abdo to claim that “that’s not friends”.

He went on to explain that he supported Kane in doing business against Lazio, even if their conversation was not “the complete truth or the whole truth” as they had exchanged messages “12 months ago”.

Kane laughed and said: ‘Yes, indeed we did. I appreciate it though.’
