According to reports in Spain, Bayern Munich is in advanced talks with representatives of Lucas Vazquez to seal a summer resistance for a free transfer.

The 29-year-old – who played 31 games in all competitions for Real Madrid this season – no longer has a contract with the Spanish team in June.

The right-wing player has yet to agree a new deal with the club, despite playing for the first team since 2015.

And Spanish outlet AS claim Bayern, the Bundesliga champions, is on pole position and has entered advanced negotiations with the player, but no deal has yet been reached.

The report adds that despite declining a new contract, Vazquez still hopes he can agree with LaLiga champions Madrid, but would still enjoy moving to the German giants.

However, Hansi Flick’s side are reportedly planning to make a deal as soon as possible and admire the versatility of the Spaniard, who has seen him operate both right back and right winger under Zinedine Zidane this season.

Premier League duo Tottenham and Everton have also been linked with a summer move for Spain’s nine-cap international.

Jose Mourinho’s squad were linked with a move for Vazquez last summer and could look to rekindle their interest in the next transfer window, with Gareth Bale’s future uncertain and Matt Doherty failing to impress.

Meanwhile, in a move to Merseyside, Vazquez would join former Real boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is reportedly monitoring the situation, while Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa would also take an interest in him.
