Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl did not respond favorably to criticism of his team following Wednesday’s rout at the hands of Barcelona.

The German giants lost 4-1 in Catalonia, where Raphinha scored a hat-trick.

Former Bayern star Robert Lewandowski scored Barça’s other goal, while Harry Kane was the sole scorer of the visiting team’s goal.

Bayern lead the Bundesliga after seven matchdays, but Wednesday’s defeat in Europe left them with just three points out of a possible nine in the Champions League.

In a post-match interview, Eberl was asked about Bayern’s defensive weaknesses. His response was to tell the journalist: ‘Get your coaching license… then you can do better!’

He added: “It’s very cheap to blame the defense when we concede goals. And if anyone scores, it’s only Harry Kane.

‘There is an attempt to divide us. We won’t allow it.’

Eberl described Wednesday’s loss as a “learning experience” before concluding: “We defend what we do and each of the players.”

Bayern, who lost 1-0 to Aston Villa in early October, are now 23rd in the 36-team Champions League league stage.

However, Vincent Kompany’s side still have a healthy +3 goal difference, having demolished Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in their first European match this season.
