FC Bayern’s sporting crisis could soon have consequences on another level. The Munich squad planners who are primarily responsible are increasingly being criticized. The record champions want to implement a first measure as early as next weekend.
Is FC Bayern threatened with the next staff quake? As the “kicker” reports in its Thursday edition, things are at least simmering behind the scenes. The focus is on sports director Hasan Salihamidzic and technical director Marco Neppe.
Both are responsible for putting together the squad for the record champions. It is obvious that mistakes were made here. Above all, the conviction that a transfer from Sadio Mané could compensate for the departure of Robert Lewandowski has proven to be a gross misjudgment. Other transfers, such as those of Ryan Gravenberch and Mathys Tel, have long been questioned.
Criticism of FC Bayern’s squad planning is growing
According to “kicker”, the work of Salihamidzic and Neppe is therefore increasingly being questioned internally. The criticism of the duo is “more and more increasing,” writes the newspaper, which is already reporting on the first consequences next weekend.
It is said that Neppe may have to vacate his place on the FC Bayern bench in the future. As early as Saturday in the Bundesliga game against TSG Hoffenheim, the former chief scout could no longer sit next to Thomas Tuchel and Co.
Above all, Salihamidzic and Neppe are blamed for not bringing in a new striker in the summer. According to the “kicker”, the search for a clipper is therefore also “top priority”. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is “not trusted” to fill this role in the future.
The top candidates in Munich are Harry Kane (Tottenham), Victor Osimhen (Naples) and Randal Kolo Muani (Frankfurt).
