Batting above his average! Cricketer Moises Henriques and Channel Nine identity Sophie Walsh take the next step in their relationship two months after going public with their romance

Australian cricketer Moisés Henriques and television presenter Sophie Walsh have taken a big step in their relationship, making it Instagram official, after initially debuting their romance two months ago.

Weekend Today show host Walsh, 38, accompanied her cricket star boyfriend, 37, as her date to the NSW Cricket Awards on Wednesday night.

In photos shared on their Instagram accounts on Friday, the couple looked in love as they posed in the stands with the Sydney Cricket Ground as a backdrop.

It’s the first time Walsh debuted on Henriques’ feed, marking her “Instagram official” status.

Meanwhile, the Sydney Sixers captain has already made a few appearances on Walsh’s Instagram account.

Several of the couple’s sports and television friends took advantage of the comments to react to their beloved publication.

“Now that’s a good looking couple,” wrote 9News reporter Gabrielle Boyle.

‘You both look stunning. Enjoy your night,’ one fan added.

Henriques didn’t take home any awards on Wednesday, but was shortlisted for the Sixers’ BBL Player of the Year and One-Day Cup Player of the Year.

Henriques is a much-loved cricketer who has represented Australia in all three formats of the game throughout his decorated career.

The all-rounder has a four-year-old son from his former marriage to his ex Krista Thomas.

Henriques and Thomas married in 2018 at their wedding in Cairns.

The cricket star has also been widely praised for speaking openly about mental health issues, including his own struggles.

In 2018, Henriques revealed in a revealing interview that he was constantly battling crippling depression and anxiety.

During Test matches, he often did not sleep.

At that time, Henrqiues’ doctor recommended that he enter a psychiatric care facility, but he was so embarrassed that he left directly.

He didn’t dare talk to other patients, thinking he was blessed after an illustrious playing career helped him financially, while others in therapy had “real problems.”
