A Batman body double was riding the Batcycle through the streets of Glasgow when The Flash began shooting on Monday.

Also shot in London last month, the film stars Ezra Miller as both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton reprise their roles as the Caped Crusader.

The doppelganger wore the striking Batman costume as he filmed the Hollywood blockbuster on the streets of the Scottish city that has been transformed into Gotham.

Members of the production crew tried to push the giant bike across the street with the doppelganger at the wheel.

The Flash, slated for release in November 2022, is reportedly filming in George Square, while Cochrane Street and George Street are also being used, according to Glasgow Times.

Large parts of the street were closed to pedestrians and several cars and trucks were parked nearby.

The Flash is the latest film to be shot in Glasgow after the city was recently transformed into 1960s New York for the filming of Indiana Jones 5.

Michael Keaton has already been spotted filming in London but has yet to be spotted in his Batman costume, implying he may only return as alter ego Bruce Wayne.

Ben, who recently played Batman, is yet to be seen on set.

In the film, The Flash travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which brings a series of unexpected consequences, including an encounter with Batman in a parallel dimension.

The Flash was originally scheduled for release in 2018, although it was later delayed due to the difficult development process.

Director Andy Muschietti was brought in to direct the feature. It was moved to debut in June 2022 and was eventually delayed to November 4 of that year in response to the onset of the global pandemic.

Earlier in June, Muschietti shared a photo of Michael’s bloody Batman costume on his Instagram account.

The actor was announced that he would take the helm of the Caped Crusader in the highly anticipated film last April, although it was first speculated that he was involved in the project back in June of last year.

Muschietti’s photo showed Batman’s iconic insignia, which is usually placed in the center of the character’s costume.

A few drops of what appeared to be blood splashed across the front in particular.

The image seemed to indicate that Keaton would be returning to his former role in the upcoming superhero movie.

The Birdman star’s first portrayal of the character was in 1989’s Batman, directed by Tim Burton.

The feature was well received by critics upon its release, with many reviewers pointing to the actor’s performance as particularly strong.

Michael went on to play the character in the film’s sequel, Batman Returns, which was also directed by Burton and released in 1992.

After the Ed Wood director stepped down from a planned third sequel, the Beetlejuice actor also left the series and the two were replaced by Joel Schumacher and Val Kilmer, respectively.

Other actors who have since helmed the Dark Knight include George Clooney and Christian Bale.

The 48-year-old actor was initially set to direct, write and star in the upcoming feature film The Batman, though he later left the production and was replaced by Robert Pattinson.

Both Ben and Michael will play younger and older versions of Bruce Wayne in The Flash.

A movie based on the DC Comics character had been in development for decades, with several aborted attempts to make a movie about the superhero over a period of about thirty years.

The feature went through several future directors, including Rick Famuyiwa and Seth Grahame-Smith, before Muschietti began work on the film.

The Barry Allen version of The Flash is played by Ezra Miller, who first played the speedster in Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice.

Other performers to appear in the highly anticipated film include Kiersey Clemons, Sasha Calle and Ron Livingston.

The feature follows the titular character as he travels back in time to prevent his mother’s untimely death, which affects his own timeline.
