The stars of Australian current affairs show The Project were less than impressed by a moment that aired on UK morning television.

During Monday’s episode, the cast watched a clip from the British show This Morning, in which the hosts were shown a roll of reusable toilet paper.

The fabric pieces, which sell for £17.98 (AUD$35) for a two-roll pack, were offered as an eco-friendly solution.

The cloths are used, then placed in a container with baking soda, before going through the wash, to be cleaned and used again.

They were promoted as “especially good for babies” since “number two babies aren’t as bad as the adults.”

The reusable toilet paper roll horrified both ITV presenters Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, who looked visibly stunned, and the cast of The Project in Australia.

“Oh wow, now you have to separate the colors, the whites and the sexes,” joked comedian Sam Taunton on The Project.

‘Why aren’t they all brown, why are they different colors?’ asked his co-host Sarah Harris.

The Project cast got nervous during the segment, but co-host Steve Price wasn’t amused and asked, ‘Can we move on?’

Several companies offer reusable toilet paper, including Australian brand Earths Tribe, whose Family Cloth rolls sell for $35 for a 20-piece package.

It seems This Morning viewers weren’t impressed with the toilet paper either.

One person commented on YouTube: ‘Get a bidet, they are all over Europe. No poop cloth please.”

Another said: ‘Surely you would at least make it brown if you had to produce this product! To hide stains?!’

Another chimed in: “Reuse is going to drive the whole world crazy.”

However, some felt that the solution could work well.

“I used a sock before and washed it well lol,” one viewer offered.
