A frantic search is underway for a missing hiker on Queensland’s highest mountain.
The man, aged in his 20s, is believed to have been walking through dense bush near Josephine Falls Road in Bartle Frere, a mountain 70 kilometers south of Cairns, on Tuesday.
He was last heard from at 6.30pm, prompting emergency services to begin a search on the 1,622-metre-high mountain well into the night on Tuesday.
The search resumed at 6 a.m. Wednesday.
