Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy has bizarrely found himself in a war with the exhibition baseball team, the Savannah Bananas.

The Bananas, dubbed the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball, have recently risen to fame as videos of the outlandish stunts they perform during games have gone viral on social media platforms.

However, while social media is enjoying the thrills of TikTok, it appears they haven’t won over Portnoy, who recently bought back his company for $1 after previously selling it for $388 million.

“I’m so sick of the Savanah Bananas,” Portnoy tweeted Monday.

Another account tweeted in response: “They might be fed up with you too,” which sparked some shade in the official Bananas account.

“The bar stool is in our DMs everyday asking to reshape our videos,” Bananas wrote. “We’re going to let Dave have his moment.”

A social media account then urged the Bananas to “ditch the DMs” as proof to which the team kindly agreed.

The screenshot was captioned “You said it, not us” and showed two separate messages from the verified Barstool account asking for permission to repost the Bananas videos.

A separate thread on Twitter showed a user asking the Bananas to confirm that Barstool Podcast host Marty Mush had practiced batting with the team, which they also had no problem with. . “Yes, he was,” replied the bananas. ‘It’s almost like… everyone at Barstool is a big fan. Weird.’

Portnoy then wrote: ‘Someone told @TheSavBananas that I didn’t own Barstool until last week.

‘I’m back. Blade s–t came out. Kudos on having low-rent talent making lame ass videos. Oh Marty Mush took BP! You prove what I mean.

In a separate post, Portnoy posted the link to a Barstool blog where he tore up the team, which he called his “new enemy”. The post was titled “Savanah Bananas Think They’re Cool Because Marty Mush Took BP With Them”.
