Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski had locker room BUST-UP with Ansu Fati immediately after Manchester United’s exit from the Europa League…with the Polish striker furious with an on-pitch foul from the prodigy
- Robert Lewandowski had a confrontation with Ansu Fati after the game last week
- The clash came after Barcelona’s defeat to Man Utd in the Europa League
- The Polish star was unhappy that Fati stood in the way of a cross for Lewandowski
Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski was reportedly involved in a post-match spat with teammate Ansu Fati following the club’s exit from the Europa League on Thursday night.
The Spanish giants were dumped out of the competition following a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford as Xavi’s men went 4-3 on aggregate at the hands of the Red Devils.
Although Lewandowski entered the scoresheet from the penalty spot, he became visibly frustrated later in the match when Fati blocked a cross intended for Barcelona’s number nine.
Those frustrations didn’t stop when the team returned to the locker room, and according to IFconfronted 34-year-old Fati and expressed his grievances to his teammate.
The report states that the Polish attacker was “well-mannered” during his complaints, but pointed out to the young Spaniard that this was not the first time this had happened.

Fati – who did not start the game but came on in the last fifteen minutes – then defended himself by claiming that he had not seen Lewandowski during the move, prompting him to try and get to the end of the cross.
Lewandowski has been a huge success for the Catalans, scoring 25 goals in 30 games since his move from Bayern Munich in the summer.
His goals have contributed to Barcelona’s healthy lead at the top of LaLiga, where the eight-point lead rivals Real Madrid with 16 games left before the end of the season.
Xavi’s men are also still the Copa del Rey and will face Real Madrid in the first leg of the semi-final on Thursday. However, their European campaign has come to an end following United’s defeat.
There were no signs from the normally mild-mannered Lewandowski of his frustrations in a post-match post he posted on social media reflecting on the night’s events.
“We fought until the last minute, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough tonight.” Lewandowski said.
“We are disappointed, but we still have trophies to win this season. Thank you for your support.’

It comes after another blow to Barca and Fati – who is on the verge of being sidelined after suffering a knee injury in training.
On Barcelona’s return to Spain in preparation for their next LaLiga match against Almeria this weekend, 20-year-old Fati suffered a setback with a bruise to his left knee.
The club confirmed via Twitter that he will be absent from Sunday’s schedule due to the issue.
It is not clear how long the striker will be absent for Xavi’s side as they focus on domestic affairs. They will also have to try to navigate the fighters Almeria without Pedri and Ousmane Dembele.
Fati has played in 34 games for Barcelona this season, scoring six goals. However, he has struggled to make the first team, starting just ten games for Xavi’s side in 2022/23.
Barcelona return to action tomorrow, when they travel to LaLiga wrestlers Almeria, 24 hours after their title rivals Real Atletico host in the Madrid derby.
