Barcelona president Joan Laporta has reignited his interest in Bernardo Silva by admitting he would “like” to bring the Manchester City star to Catalonia this summer.
Silva has been the subject of speculation about his future following City’s historic Treble win last season, with the midfielder reportedly considering a move away from Pep Guardiola’s side.
Barcelona have long been linked to the Portugal international, while Saudi club Al Hilal are also said to have offered him a contract worth £75m per season to become the latest player to move to the Middle East.
French PSG are also interested in Silva and have reportedly offered a player swap deal to try and land the 28-year-old.
Now images of Laporta have come out admitting that he wants to bring the midfielder to Barcelona.

In a clip captured by Soc Blaugranathe Catalan coach admits that he “would like” to incorporate Silva into Xavi’s squad this summer, and almost confirms that they are still in the race for his signing.
Silva’s £150,000 a week contract with City is due to expire in 2025, and the club want to offer him a new contract to stay in Manchester and warn potential suitors.
The English and European champions are desperate to keep him as he has been a key member of Pep Guardiola’s team since joining from Monaco for £43m in 2017.
He then went on to score 55 goals and contribute 59 assists in 306 games in all competitions for the Citizens.
Last season he scored seven goals in 55 games as City swept the Premier League, the FA Cup and their first Champions League.
Barcelona have already snapped up Silva’s former Manchester City teammate Ilkay Gundogan this summer, but the Portugal international remains a key target for Xavi’s side as they look to defend their La Liga title.
However, the club is still struggling financially and would need to find a way to make any deal for Silva work.
