Barcelona coach Xavi was furious at the perception of further refereeing injustice after seeing his team’s slim hopes of winning the Spanish title disappear.

“I’m not going to say anything about the referee because I’ll be penalized if I do, but it was there for everyone to see,” he said. “We were the better team tonight and we deserved to win.”

The Barcelona coach was dissatisfied because a shot on goal by Lamine Yamal in the first half was disallowed for not having crossed the line.

La Liga does not have goal-line technology and several freeze frames appeared inconclusive after the 16-year-old flicked a Raphinha corner goalwards and Madrid goalkeeper Lunin pushed the ball away on the line.

“I don’t want to comment on Xavi’s words,” Carlo Ancelotti responded. “We won this match with our energy and we gave ourselves a big advantage in the table.”

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc André ter Stegen was also furious that the first-half “ghost goal” had not been scored.

He said: “It’s a shame they can’t find an angle to control the goal.” I don’t have words to describe that.’

Xavi’s referee did not dwell on the incident on the goal line. He said: ‘The referee didn’t get any decision right.

Xavi described

Xavi described the refereeing decisions against his team as a “shame” and stated that Barcelona “will not remain silent”

‘It is a shame and we must not remain silent. He hoped the referee would go unnoticed or get his decisions right, but it was neither of those two things.

Jude Bellingham was Barcelona’s villain at the Santiago Bernabeu as the Englishman scored his third goal of the season in El Clásico to rescue an injury-time victory for the hosts.

It was a classic comeback from the Spanish giants who were trailing 2-1 when Fermin Lopez gave the visitors a 2-1 lead after scoring in the 69th minute.

Their effort was soon canceled out when Lucas Vasquez equalized before Bellingham’s late winning goal.
