Barack Obama plans a star-studded 60th birthday party at his Martha’s Vineyard mansion

Barack Obama plans to throw a party on his 60th birthday at his Martha’s Vineyard mansion with a star-studded guest list that has all been tested for COVID.

Big names like Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney have reportedly already scored an invitation to join the former president.

The party will take place at Obama’s, $11.75 million 30-acre oceanfront getaway on the exclusive island of Massachusetts, as he celebrates its big birthday on Aug. 4.

All guests have been asked to provide a negative COVID-19 test prior to the bash, it was claimed, as virus cases in the US begin to spike again.

Obama turns 60 on August 4 and has a reputation for big and legendary birthday parties to uphold.

Ten years ago, when he turned 50, then-President Obama hosted a number of famous guests at the White House, including Oprah Winfrey, musicians Jay-Z and Stevie Wonder, actor Tom Hanks, comedian Chris Rock and basketball legends Charles Barkley and Grant Hill, along with a mix of politicians and friends from Chicago Law School.

It was reported that the former president would be charging up to $35,800 per couple for tickets to a separate 50th birthday party in his hometown of Chicago, which also served as a fundraiser for his reelection campaign.

Tickets to that fundraiser started at just $50, which got partygoers to see the limited-seat concert. Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson would be present at the ‘layered’ event. Obama’s team had set a collective goal of $60 million.

The main White House celebration kicked off with a barbecue feast of chicken, ribs, burgers, hot dogs, pasta and salad in the Rose Garden, followed by four types of pie: apple, peach, blueberry and cherry. At the end of that meal, Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha handed the president a cake before sending the crowd inside for musical performances and a dance.

The party was rumored to have continued into the next day as the soiree ate barbecued and danced.

This year’s celebration will be held in the seven-bedroom, nearly 7,000-foot mansion where the Obamas vacation regularly and have spent the past few weeks.

The former First Family bought their beloved vacation spot in 2019 for $11.75 million — just a portion of their $70 million combined net worth.

The 29-acre beachfront property was previously owned by Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck.

The house was originally listed for $14.850,000, but, TMZ reports that the Obamas managed to get a massive discount and secure the 6,900-square-foot home for $11.75 million.

The huge property has a pool, outdoor fire pit and vaulted ceilings with ceiling two wings that run from the main house and serve as the perfect place to receive guests.

Outside, the country has its own private beach, boathouse, and plenty of land if the Obamas hoped to expand.

Last February, local newspaper MV times reported that the Obamas were doing some renovations according to a public notice.

The project “concerns the construction of an extension to an existing boathouse/gym, the enlargement of patios, the construction of a fire pit and related landscape and site improvements.”

‘It’s a remarkable home in an absolutely beautiful setting,’ realtor Tom Wallace said previously, ‘privacy is a key feature of the property.

“It certainly has the capacity to expand into a more compound. One could build two additional full-size properties if one wanted to create a meeting place for generations,” the article added.

The house is located on the edge of Edgartown Great Pond, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

It has predominantly white interiors, but is surrounded by emerald green lawns.

Michelle and Barack will have plenty of space to relax as the master bedroom opens out onto a sun terrace, while their daughters have plenty of room there to enjoy long summer vacations.

Malia, 23, is currently a student at Harvard University, while Sasha, 20, has started studying at the University of Michigan.

The couple turned out to fall in love with the mansion in 2018 when they rented it for their summer vacation.

That same year, the Obamas sold their summer home on the island for $15 million. They are no strangers to the island, having spent seven summers there while Barack was president.
