New CCTV footage reveals the moment a woman was nearly hit by an out-of-control Tesla in a crash that left four people, including a mother and young daughter, trapped.

Energised power lines fell onto a nearby Subaru after the electric vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Raymond Street in Bankstown, in Sydney’s south-west, at about 10.45am on Thursday.

CCTV footage revealed that the car nearly hit a pedestrian in the incident, while the driver and his passenger, as well as a mother and her daughter, were trapped after the accident.

A passerby told Nine News there were “wires everywhere” and neighbouring businesses closed for the day as emergency crews worked to restore power.

“I heard a deafening noise and some people screaming,” the man said.

‘I went outside and saw cables everywhere.

‘Around 10 people tried to help, trying to break the window.’

The driver and his passenger, both aged 70, were taken to Liverpool Hospital with multiple injuries but were in a stable condition as of Friday.

Raymond Street was blocked between Restwell Street and West Terrace following the incident.

The mother and infant daughter are believed to have been freed unharmed after the power was cut off.

New South Wales Police said they are investigating the incident.
