The August bank holiday weekend will be hit by a new wave of rail strikes after the RMT announced two new dates for action.
Members of the railway union, which represents ticket office staff and train guards, plan a strike on August 26 and September 2.
A total of 20,000 staff members will leave, likely to disrupt rail services on what is one of the busiest weekends of the year.
This is the latest strike by the RMT over wages after the union went on strike for three days in July, including at the start of the summer school holidays.
RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said: “The mood among our members remains strong and determined in our national dispute over paid job security and working conditions.
“We had to call more strikes as we have not received any improved or revised offers from the Rail Delivery Group.
“The reason for this is that the government has not allowed them a new mandate on which discussions can take place.”
