One of two men stabbed with a broken bottle in a street fight in Bali has returned home to Australia just four days after the attack left him “30 minutes from death”.

Peter Noel Sidney Nye, 28, and his friend Izaeah Wilson, both from Queensland, told police they were assaulted outside a convenience store in Kuta early Friday morning.

Wilson suffered so much blood loss that he was told that if he did not receive medical attention within 30 minutes he would have died, while Nye suffered serious injuries to his head and arms.

The photos showed Mr. Wilson lying in a hospital bed, covered in bandages and with an oxygen mask taped to his mouth.

Wilson, originally from New Zealand, is believed to have returned to Australia by plane.

He shared an Instagram story that his sister had posted on Tuesday welcoming him back home.

“Glad you’re recovering at home in Aus, time to get back to New Zealand,” she wrote alongside a photo of the couple together.

“I am very grateful”.

Wilson reshared the post on her own account, where she also revealed that she was “healing well.”

“Seven stabs later, alive, grateful, fighting,” he said with a selfie of a bandage over his chest.

It’s unclear if Nye has also returned home.

Nye’s girlfriend, Scarlett Carruthers, had previously created a GoFundMe to help the men with their medical bills.

She claimed that her boyfriend’s medical bill was $50,000 as he had to undergo cosmetic surgery after almost losing his sight.

Mr. Wilson’s bill was estimated to cost $15,000.

Carruthers said the hospital was unable to perform the surgery until they paid in advance, admitting they were “stupid” and “forgot” to purchase travel insurance before their trip.

“My partner and his friend ended up being stabbed over 20 times in the face, neck, head, eyes, chest, both arms and ear,” he wrote in the fundraiser.

He also stated that the attack occurred when the group went out to eat and sleep “early” before their flight.

Bali police sources told Daily Mail Australia on Monday that Nye and Wilson had been at the Shi-Shi nightclub in Seminyak, south Bali, with Nye’s girlfriend.

The source said a man, believed to be from the Ivory Coast, allegedly harassed Carruthers before the three left the nightclub.

Nye and Wilson dropped Carruthers at his villa before going out to buy beer at a shop in the North Kuta district.

There they ran into the same man who had allegedly harassed Ms Carruthers previously, along with another man.

A fight broke out after one allegedly shouted ‘fuck you’ at the two Australians.

They allegedly hit each other with their bare hands and with broken beer bottles, and the two Australians suffered deep lacerations to their heads, necks, chests and arms.

Following the attack, Nye posted a photo of his hospital medical report that said he was admitted on Friday and released on Saturday.

The report said he had been injured around 6 a.m. Friday and told medical staff he was “in a fight and assaulted by strangers.”

“According to the patient, he was stabbed multiple times in the head and arms,” the report states.

Daily Mail Australia does not suggest any wrongdoing on the part of the men.

Nye shared a touching post about her partner on Tuesday, thanking him for being by her side throughout the entire ordeal.

‘How much love I have for this beautiful woman! Especially during this really fucked up time! he wrote.

‘He hasn’t left my side! Get into the habit of telling people “thank you.” Express your gratitude sincerely and without expecting anything in return.

‘Truly appreciate those around you and you will soon find many others around you. Truly appreciate life and you will discover that you have more of it.’

Daily Mail Australia has attempted to contact both men for comment.
