The 76-year-old man was hit by a car while walking near the roundabout at Nairn Dr and Safety Bay Rd in Baldivis and was thrown onto the tarmac where he was hit by another car.

An elderly pedestrian died after being hit by a car that pushed him onto a busy road where he was struck by a second vehicle.

The 76-year-old man was first hit by a white Toyota RAV4 as the car was travelling on Nairn Drive near the Safety Bay Rd roundabout in Baldivis, south Perth, at about 4pm on Monday.

Police said the impact caused the man to fall onto the road, where he was then struck by a black Mazda CX9 SUV traveling in the same direction.

Both drivers are believed to have stopped after the collisions.

The man reportedly suffered “catastrophic injuries” and was rushed to Rockingham General Hospital, but died shortly after.

Major crash investigators are urging anyone with information about the crash, or who saw the white Toyota RAV4, black Mazda CX9 or pedestrian in the area prior to the crash, to contact Crime Stoppers.
