Backstreet Boys singer AJ McLean reveals he’s lost 27 pounds in just eight months… following the fitness journey he started when he did DWTS in 2020
Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean embarked on a fitness journey and managed to lose a whopping 27 pounds in eight months.
She began to focus more on her health when she competed on Dancing With the Stars about two years ago, she said. People.
‘I was doing a TV show in South Africa last February. So between February and now, I’ve lost 27 pounds,” the 44-year-old revealed in a new interview.

AJ was in South Africa to film the reality competition show The Fashion Hero: A New Kind Of Beautiful, where he was serving as host.
He pondered to People that ‘the health kick started’ for him at Dancing with the Stars, which he began competing in September 2020.
“Then the holidays came, and obviously everyone pushes themselves a little bit harder during the holidays and whatever, and they don’t exactly stick to a diet,” she confessed.
Eventually, though, he was able to get back into his exercise routine, and now he’s determined to stick with it.

“And once you get into a routine, you start to see results and you start to feel better, you sleep better, your mental state is better, your focus is better. You just want to keep that. You don’t want to back down,” she shared.
AJ even underwent a cosmetic procedure that tightened loose skin due to her weight loss with a combination of liposuction and radio frequency waves.
Lately he has been on tour with the Backstreet Boys, and the grueling physical exertion he puts in on stage has also helped him keep his figure.

“I’m not saying we’re Michael Jordan or Tom Brady, but we’re like athletes,” argued AJ, who is currently in Europe doing concerts with the band.
He compared “what we put our bodies through” on stage to “what athletes go through during a season or during a preseason.” And on top of that we are singing.
AJ has had a roller coaster relationship with alcohol, having been to rehab multiple times over the last two decades, but is now over a year sober.

While appearing on the This day show last month, he recalled: ‘Drinking made me gain weight, but it also aggravated my mental state.
Earlier in September, he posted an Instagram collage showing his impressive progress from his previous ‘dadbod’ to his current sculpted physique.
“I found the photo on the left from a year ago on vacation and it’s amazing what a little dedication and goal setting can do for a person,” she wrote. However, the journey is far from over. This is just the beginning!’
