Bachelorette’s 35-year-old Jarrod Woodgate gets his first COVID-19 vaccination in Darwin after being considered high-risk due to an underlying health condition

Jarrod Woodgate shared a video on Tuesday of getting his first COVID-19 vaccination in a post on Instagram.

The 35-year-old former Bachelorette star revealed that he is considered at risk due to a health condition, which is why he got the vaccine relatively early.

“ Very grateful to have gotten my first COVID-19 vaccination today as I fall into Category 1B because of my MGUS (which makes me have a compromised immune system and a higher risk of developing blood cancer), ” he explained.

‘Special shout-out to the wonderful Royal Darwin Hospital staff who put up with me acting like a big baby when it comes to needles and all the primary care workers who put their health on the line to keep us safe.’

Jarrod also urged his followers to also get vaccinated against the deadly virus: “When it’s your turn, do your bit and roll up your sleeve!”

The former Bachelor in Paradise star suffers from MGUS (monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance), a condition that causes the body to produce an abnormal protein.

Both Jarrod and the health worker wore face masks, while the former reality TV star squirmed in his chair when the needle went in.

‘Ahh, I don’t like that one. Do I get a lollipop or something? he joked after receiving his vaccination.
