New romance! Bachelor Star Pieper James Is Dating Former Bachelorette Contestant Brendan Morais… But The Couple Is ‘Letting It Down’ Because It’s ‘Long Distance And New’
Pieper James and Brendan Morais, who both rose to fame on ABC’s Bachelor franchise, are reportedly dating.
An insider told Us Weekly that Brendan, 31, and Pieper, 24, have been on item for “a few weeks” and are “super together” but remain private about the romance.
They each made their name on different shows – last year she was a contestant on The Bachelor and he competed on The Bachelorette.
What a duo: Pieper James and Brendan Morais, who both rose to fame on ABC’s Bachelor franchise, are reportedly an item
“Pieper and Brendan have been dating for a few weeks. Either he flies to New York and hangs with her, or she flies to Boston to hang out with him,” the source said.
“She was last in Boston over Memorial Day weekend and they were even seen in public together,” the insider added.
The source added: “They’re keeping their relationship a secret because they’re trying to make it work over the long haul and it’s still new.”
To hear the insider say, “They’re both super in love with each other and getting to know each other and just having fun going out.”
Hand in hand: Brendan is pictured on The Bachelorette vying for the hand of Tayshia Adams before sending himself home in the penultimate episode
Since they both “hang out in the same Bachelor crowd,” they had “joint friends” before they became a couple.
Pieper fought in vain for the affection of Matt James, who was famously the first black man to become The Bachelor.
Although she told him she was “falling in love with him,” she was still sent home in the seventh week.
Meanwhile, Brendan joined The Bachelorette last year when the title position was taken by Clare Crawley, who at age 39 was the oldest woman to run the show.
Try: Pieper unsuccessfully competed for the affection of Matt James, who was famously the first black man to become The Bachelor
However, during the filming of the season, it emerged that Clare picked contestant Dale Moss early — reportedly just 12 days after they met — and left the show.
She responded to trolls who said she got engaged too soon by saying to Us Weekly: ‘Who are these people to determine how long it takes for someone to fall in love?’
Clare was quickly replaced by Tayshia Adams when that season’s Bachelorette and Tayshia picked up Zac Clark.
About: Even though she told him she ‘fell in love with him’, she was taken from home in the seventh week anyway
After Clare left the show, Brendan was seen chatting with Tayshia about the fact that they were both divorced.
However, during the penultimate episode, Brendan sent himself home when he realized he wasn’t ready to get married again.
He explained to Tayshia that “a lot of me is still broken, a lot of me still needs time to heal.”
