‘Babylon’ Trailer Offers Insights Into The Dark World Of Stardom In Hollywood

A chaotic trailer that’s certainly worth waiting for…

The much-awaited trailer of Bratt Pitt and Margot Robbie’s Babylon was released today. Damien Chazelle, Academy Award winner for period comedy, has written and directed this epic film. Along with the two megastars — Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie — the cast includes actors like Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li. The film focuses on the lives of Hollywood actors and the fickleness of stardom, where on one day the paparazzi cannot seem to get enough of them, whereas, in a low phase, the very celebs in question don’t seem to be able to get through with day-to-day survival.

The movie will be released theatrically on December 23, 2022.

Here’s what fans have to say:

#BabylonMovie, a drug-fueled fever dream that reveals the history of cinema through a lens of those who long to be a part. Intense from beginning to end, Damien Chazelle’s growth as a storyteller could not be showcased more spectacularly.

I’m not inspired by the trailer for #BabylonMovie to spend any money on that movie. Perhaps streaming is better.

@Sweaving, sometimes mistaken for MargotRobbie, is a wonderful casting choice. She will be the understudy of Margot Robbie in the #BabylonMovie. It was simply amazing.

#BabylonMovie offers a fascinating and unworldly look at the beginnings of cinema. I loved it so much, and it’s wonderful to see a movie that was made by someone who loves Singin’ in the Rain as much as I do.

Margot Robbie is giving me Denise Richard’s before 2006 in that #BabylonMovie trailer. I may have to see it.

Damien Chazelle, the director of the film, announced it in 2019. He also revealed that he plans to work on a project which is set in the golden era of Hollywood. Babylon is set in the 1910s to 1960s, when visuals and narration were essential components of American cinema. This style was eventually adopted across the globe.

Emma Stone initially played the role of Robbie. Due to scheduling conflicts, she was forced to leave this film. Pitt later in 2020 confirmed that he was a part this film and said that he was seeing the transition from silent cinema into cinema with sound. California was the location for most of the filming. The makers were also credited with a state tax credit.

Pitt talked about how it was to work with Chazelle during an interview. “I shot the first four days, [witnessed] some amazing choreography, and it was raucous, and it was bawdy, and it had this great energy to it, and half the background is naked, and they’re snorting cocaine off someone’s a**. Then I took three days off and came back to find it still going. It was amazing. I still marvel at how much this man got in one shot… I’ve been really fortunate to work with some of the great filmmakers, and I already consider Damien Chazelle one of the greats,” he added.

On the other hand, talking about the film, Robbie averred, “you have a great director looking out for you, so I couldn’t have wished for anything better, it was the greatest experience of my life. It’s the greatest character I’ve ever played and probably the greatest character I ever will play.”
