Two Rottweilers who killed a five-week-old baby had already been reported to the council by terrified neighbors months before the tragedy, it was revealed.
Mia Jade Riley was asleep in a bassinet at her grandfather’s home in Moruya, on the south coast of New South Wales, on Saturday night when dogs suddenly attacked her around 10:40pm.
Her parents and several other adults desperately tried to save her and rushed her to the hospital, where she sadly died of her injuries.
Family friends told Daily Mail Australia that the dog’s attack was completely random, coming after they were harmlessly dozing near the girl.
However, several neighbors have now revealed that they were so afraid of the Rottweilers that they had stopped walking the property where they lived.

Doctors at the nearby Moruya Hospital were unable to save Mia Jade (pictured) and she died.

Mia Jade’s father, local chiropractor Tom Riley, and his wife Lani (pictured) jumped in to take the dogs off their baby.
The dogs are believed to belong to Mia’s mother’s cousin, who lives next door to the property where the attack occurred.
“We warned them…we told (the council) that one day they would attack someone, they are so loud and intimidating,” an elderly resident told the daily telegraph.
Another local added: ‘I know the council went there maybe six or 12 months ago and talked to the people (who own the dogs).
But nothing really changed. I’m not aware they’ve ever attacked, but they’re scary to look at and so big, you just worry what they might do if they got out.
Eurobodalla Shire Council does not comment on the reports.
A spokeswoman previously confirmed that council rangers had confiscated the dogs, but was unable to comment further due to the ongoing police investigation.
Police are believed to still be interviewing the parents and other adults who were at the meeting to understand exactly how the attack occurred.
The girl was sleeping next to a table of six to eight adults when she was attacked.
Mia Jade’s father, local chiropractor Tom Riley, and his wife Lani jumped in to remove their baby’s dogs as horrified dinner guests rushed to help.
They wrapped the blood-soaked girl and drove her to the nearby Moruya Hospital. But the doctors couldn’t save her and she died shortly after midnight.
“Everyone had to be involved to get the dogs out,” a family friend told Daily Mail Australia.
