An outraged mother has demanded an apology and compensation after her 10-week-old son was found bleeding with scratches on his face at a daycare centre.
Rachel* claimed the center told her it was an accident that happened while Noah* was unattended for a short time at an Only About Children branch in Melbourne.
Box Hill’s mom rushed to daycare after getting the horrible phone call and being sent pictures of Noah’s face, thinking, “How could this have happened?”
Through an interpreter, Rachel said, “We cried the whole time. We couldn’t believe that something terrible could happen to our boy. We couldn’t accept it.’
She was shocked to see the images Only About Children said she had sent her of her injured baby.

“I felt pain in my heart. I didn’t even want to click on the images, they were too graphic,” she said 9News.
“The explanation from the center is that this just happened by accident, but we simply cannot accept this explanation.”
She added that “There were over 20 scratches on Noah’s face. How can this happen by accident?’
Daily Mail Australia has contacted the Only About Children center for comment.
The Quality Assessment and Regulation Division of Victoria’s early childhood supervisor has been notified of what happened to Noah.

It said in a statement that “the service has taken steps to address this incident, including reviewing diaper changing procedures to include an additional educator at these times.”
Luckily for Noah, when Rachel took him to Box Hill Hospital, the doctors told her his scratches should heal without scarring.
Rachel’s emotional scars will likely take much longer to heal.
