Gorgeous gowns were paired with elaborate fascinators, towering heels and plunging necklines as race participants dressed in greens, pinks and oranges.
Many toned down their look with understated accessories, including nude bags and silver heels.
The three-day competition, the highlight of the racing calendar, gives glamorous fans an excuse to don their finery for a day of action.
Of course, no racing festival would be the same without a selection of elaborate headwear and there were plenty of eye-catching choices on display.
While some opted for subtle fascinators and headbands, others went all out in creations festooned with feathers and colorful bows.
Short, figure-hugging dresses were among the popular choices today, while one party-goer opted for a cream one-piece with a bold V-neck and sheer detailing.
Dressed in eye-catching fascinators, sky-high heels, daring hemlines and frilly dresses, the well-dressed women seemed excited to be at today’s event.
Taking to Twitter ahead of the event, Ayr Racecourse tweeted: LADIES DAY IS HERE! Tickets are available on the door today, don’t miss a day filled with exciting horse racing, fabulous fashion and endless fun.
Despite a temperature of 14C in cool but sunny Scotland, race participants dressed in thigh-skimming, sleeveless looks.

Partygoers will also enjoy the sounds of Bon Jordi – a Bon Jovi tribute act – as well as local artists Waterfront, Colin McArdle and Clan MacCliche.
