Aymeric Laporte appeared to mock Vinicius Jr. on social media after the two clashed during Spain’s 3-3 friendly against Brazil on Tuesday at the Bernabeu.

Tempers flared during the match, with both players clashing on the pitch after the Brazilian striker appeared to push the Spanish defender in the back with his elbow.

Earlier in the week, Vinicius broke down in tears during a press conference when asked why he had been subjected to racist abuse over recent seasons.

He told reporters: “I just want to play football, but it’s hard to keep going.” I have less and less desire to play.’

Laporte later responded to the post by writing in Spanish: “Maybe I just wanted to dance?”

Things also got heated at the end of the match, when Vinicius, who was replaced by Douglas Luiz in the 71st minute, appeared to come off the bench before angrily confronting Alvaro Morata, who was in the home team’s technical area.

Although tensions rose during the match, fans inside the Bernabéu were treated to a six-goal thriller.

West Ham star Lucas Paquetá managed to salvage a late equalizer for the visitors, scoring from the penalty spot in the seventh minute of stoppage time.

Manchester City midfielder Rodri put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot, and Dani Olmo doubled the lead for Luis de la Fuente’s team. Rodrygo would score a goal to make it 2-1 before 17-year-old star Endrick scored his second international goal in just his second appearance for Brazil. Rodri would score again from the spot before Paqueta sealed the 3-3 tie.

The match was played in conjunction with an anti-racism campaign with the slogan “one skin”.

Both groups of players joined the fight, but it is not clear what provoked Vinicius Jnr.

Vinicius was also seen angrily confronting Álvaro Morata after being substituted.

Laporte moved to Al-Nassr from Manchester City last summer in a £23.5million transfer.

Last season, LaLiga had notified prosecutors that 10 incidents of racism had been committed by Vinicius Jr., who received a standing ovation when he left the field on Tuesday.

During a press conference on Monday, he said: “It’s a very sad thing that happens in every game of mine. It’s not just me and it’s not just in Spain, it’s all over the world.

‘I receive many insults while the racist is free; He is not punished. Every day that passes I feel more and more sad about it. But I keep fighting because they have messed with me.

“I fight so that in the near future it doesn’t happen to anyone else.”

Vinicius burst into tears when asked about racism at Monday’s press conference

Vinicius suffered racial abuse in 2023 during a match against Valencia at the Mestalla stadium and LaLiga imposed lifetime bans on three people.

Valencia were ordered to close part of their stadium for five matches following the abuse directed at the Brazilian and fined £39,000.

The winger has lashed out against the racist abuse he has received several times before, in particular stating last season that “LaLiga belongs to the racists.”

Multiple reports have emerged in recent months claiming that the Real Madrid star has been subjected to racial slurs again, with “young fans racially abusing the Madrid striker while taking part in a friendly football match with schoolchildren in Morocco.”
