Awra Briguela broke her social media hiatus after more than a month, though the actress and comedian has remained mum about her involvement in a Makati bar fight last June.
Briguela, whose real name is Mcneal Briguela, marked his return by promoting his upcoming series “Comedy Island Philippines,” in which he will star alongside Andrea Brillantes, Carlo Aquino, Rufa Mae Quinto, Jerald Naples, Drew Arellano, Cai Cortez, and Justine Luzares. .
The posters for the series were shown on Briguela’s Instagram and X pages on Wednesday, August 9. The actress also notably limited the users who can comment on these posts.
Briguela was arrested by Makati police on June 29 after a fistfight with whistleblower Mark Christian Ravana’s group outside the Bolt Hole Bar in Poblacion, Makati.
Ravana claimed that the actress approached him and demanded that he remove his shirt. When Ravana refused, Briguela reportedly followed him and ripped her shirt, which reportedly started her commotion.
These accusations were refuted by Briguela’s friend, content creator Zayla Nakajima, who said that Ravana tried to sexually harass her and that the actress was simply defending her. However, Makati police said they did not receive any complaints from Briguela’s group regarding such harassment against them.
Briguela was accused of bodily harm, alarm and scandal, disobedience to authority, and direct assault, and was released on July 1 after posting a 6,000-peso bail. /ra
