Amanda Balionis will cover the final two days of the Scottish Open in North Berwick

CBS Golf Reporter Amanda Balionis is excited to head across the pond to North Berwick for the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open, where she will reunite with Rory McIlroy.

On Thursday, Balionis took to Instagram to express her excitement about covering the tournament. The reporter, sporting a tan Alo cap and sweater, snapped a selfie with her stamped passport.

“See you soon North Berwick,” she wrote with a heart emoji while tagging the Scottish Open.

Covering the final two days of the tournament, which runs from July 11-14, could open the door for Balionis’ first public showdown with McIlroy since earlier flirtation rumors circulated.

However, this comes after McIlroy called off a divorce and reconciled with wife Erica Stoll, who was seen on the course supporting her husband earlier in the tournament.

Balionis last interviewed McIlroy in June during the RBC Canadian Open, following her headline-grabbing divorce from Stoll in May. Speculation about a possible romance between them arose from their seemingly flirtatious interviews.

When McIlroy called off his relationship with Stoll, fans continued to push the narrative while Balionis, who is married to former NFL quarterback Bryn Renner, was also conspicuously unapologetic about not wearing her wedding ring amid the rumors.

However, the whispers that emerged from the smiles and laughter of the interviews turned out to be nothing more than fan fiction.

After declaring his marriage broken and filing for divorce, McIlroy decided to end the separation in order to resolve the differences for the benefit of his family. The golfer would later address the inevitable rumours about his personal life.

“There have been rumors about my personal life lately, which is unfortunate. Responding to every rumor is a fool’s game,” he said.

‘Over the past few weeks, Erica and I have realized that our best future was to live together as a family. Thankfully, we have resolved our differences and look forward to a fresh start.’
