Ruben Amorim’s first post-match interview as Man United manager was awkwardly interrupted by Ed Sheeran.
United, under Amorim for the first time, got off to a dream start and took the lead within 80 seconds of kick-off, courtesy of Marcus Rashford’s fifth goal of the season.
But Kieran McKenna’s men responded superbly by going behind and forced multiple saves from Andre Onana before Omari’s Hutchinson superbly picked out the top corner from more than 20 yards.
An apparently frustrated Amorim was being interviewed by Sky Sports on the pitch after the 1-1 draw at Portman Road when Sheeran made an appearance. .
The pop star walked up to say hello to pundit Jamie Redknapp and then said: “I don’t think he (Amorim) wants to talk to me.”
United’s new manager was unimpressed as he shook his head, with Sheeran adding: “I love being back in the Premier League.”

The pop star came over to say hello to Jamie Redknapp while Amorim talked about his team.
The Portuguese coach (left) was not impressed and the interview resumed shortly after.
The Ipswich co-owner said goodbye to Redknapp after promising he would return to the air and the interview with Amorim resumed.
Fans on social media were left fuming as they criticized Sheeran for being “rude”.
One said: “I’m honestly a bit horrified at how rude that was of Ed Sheeran.” Amorim should have told everyone to go fuck themselves.”
Another United fan posted on X: ‘Imagine letting a pop star interrupt an interview with a manager. “He puts his face on the screen at every Ipswich game.”
A third added: “Amateur time, totally unprofessional and must say a bit disrespectful when interviewing a manager.”
Sheeran is officially a member of the Portman Road team, having bought a minority stake (1.4%) in his beloved club in August.
The Shape of You singer has attended multiple games so far this season.
He was at Ipswich’s first game of the campaign, a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool, although he had to leave at half-time so he could go to a concert in Serbia.
But Sheeran was able to stay for the full 90 minutes as Ipswich claimed their first league win of the season by beating Tottenham in London earlier this month.
Before Sunday’s game, Sheeran visited a new mural recently created in his honor.
The artwork, painted on the side of a building on Sir Alf Ramsey Way, near Portman Road, features two images of Sheeran.
One of the images shows Sheeran and a child and the other shows him as he looks now.
In both images, Sheeran is wearing the Ipswich kit, while the artwork is accompanied by the words: “Tractor Boy.”
