- But she was talking to a college football assistant coach, not the former NFL quarterback.
A college football assistant coach was mistakenly identified as former NFL star Vince Young during an awkward Golf Channel interview on Thursday.
Young, a former No. 3 pick of the Titans and 2006 NCAA national champion at Texas, is participating in the BMW Charity Pro-Am in South Carolina.
Naturally, Golf Channel’s Lauren Withrow wanted to talk to the former NFL player, but instead she mistakenly interviewed Citadel assistant Everette Sands.
In a live segment, Withrow began listing Young’s accomplishments to ask a question, before Sands politely told him that he was not the Texas legend.
“Now I apologize, you have the wrong person,” he said before identifying himself.
