This is the awkward moment a mum was left in tears after revealing her gender when she found out she was having a boy.
Nicole Smith and her fiancé Ryan*, from Dover, Delaware, were having an intimate gender reveal with a couple of close friends using colorful cupcakes when she realized she was having a third child.
The 29-year-old had suffered seven IVF miscarriages, but admits she had hoped to have a girl to balance the all-male household.
The mother-of-two can be seen biting into the cupcake with her partner before realizing the inside is blue and bursts into tears.
Although Nicole adores her three-year-old son and nine-year-old stepson, she had been imagining having a little girl as a “mini me” who she could “dress up” and share “dresses, bows and hairstyles” with people rather than “play in.” the earth”.

Nicole, who works as an early intervention case manager with children with disabilities, says she believes her emotions were running high because her tears soon turned to happy cries.
After sharing the clip on TikTok, the mother claimed she received “a lot of negative comments telling her she was ungrateful,” which she admits was “hurtful.”
She says she wouldn’t trade being a ‘child mother’ for anything in the world and that it’s ‘the furthest thing from being ungrateful.’
Nicole said: “I have a son and a stepson and I was really hoping to have a little girl.”
‘I had it in my head that we were having a girl, so once I bit into the cupcake I was a little surprised. I initially expected to see some pink there.
‘I had the idea of being able to have a girl and share all the dresses, the bows and the hairstyles.
‘Right now I love playing in the dirt, but I was hoping a little girl would balance the house.
‘I think it was this dream I had in my head that I had made up that I was going to have a little mini me. I realized that was not going to happen anymore.
Nicole, 29, says “emotions were high” at the time as she had always dreamed of having a little girl to dress up as.
Nicole already has a three-year-old son and nine-year-old stepson and says this was her last chance to have a girl (pictured with her family and fiancé Ryan).
“I got a little angry, emotions are obviously high.”
Nicole became pregnant after having seven miscarriages through IVF.
She added that the reason she got so upset is because she has a genetic condition that means she can’t have any more children, and this was her last chance to have a girl.
She said she “loves” being a mother to a boy, but felt it was “bittersweet” that she couldn’t get a little girl to dress up.
She continued: ‘Once I started getting really angry, I was angrier because I was happy.
‘I’m beyond happy and excited now to have another child and be a boy mom forever, it just took me a little by surprise.
‘I love being a boy mom. Clearly I was made to have a group of children.
“I love being a mom to a boy, but it was bittersweet that I wasn’t going to have a little girl to dress up with me.”
Nicole couldn’t help but burst into tears when she saw that the inside of the cupcake (pictured) was blue, which meant she was having another boy.
Nicole says she was “taken by surprise” but soon laughed about it and now thinks she might not even have been able to handle having a little girl.
Nicole, whose baby is due in July, said: “Once we were done with the photos, we laughed.”
“We were realizing ‘why did we ever think we were having a girl?’ “We have a group of kids.”
‘It may not have been exactly what we expected, but I can’t believe we’ve come this far and we’re having another baby.
“It made it all a little more real to know that I had a genre because we hadn’t gotten this far in years.
‘The next day, I really realized that I am 100% cut out to be a male mom and that I probably don’t want to take on all the things that come with being a woman.
“I felt happy and I’m starting to understand that this will be our future.”
Nicole organized the photo shoot with a couple of close friends and her best friend made the cupcakes especially for the occasion.
Those in the comments were quick to express their support as mothers said they had also experienced “gender disappointment.”
The mother posted the photos online for her friends and family to see, but she didn’t expect the video to go viral and garner more than three million views.
Nicole posted it online with the caption: ‘Hey, I just wanted a girl. For being surrounded by four boys for the rest of my existence. PS: I’m so happy to have my kids, it just threw me off a little.
Those in the comments were quick to express their support, writing: “I was convinced I was going to be a boy mom because that’s all I imagined and I have three girls.” Gender disappointment is so real!’;

Despite receiving some “hurtful” comments that have accused her of being “ungrateful,” Nicole says she “wouldn’t change anything for the world.”
Nicole said: “I didn’t expect that to go viral because I’m not a TikToker.” Actually, it was just for my friends and family to see.
‘The reaction online has been somewhat hurtful. There have been many negative comments telling me that I am ungrateful.
Nicole’s baby is due in July and she says she has now accepted being a ‘boy mom’
‘I am far from being ungrateful because I have lost many pregnancies. I am very happy to have this.
‘It has also been good that thousands of mothers have said ‘the same thing happened to me’ and cried.
‘It hurts for a couple of seconds because you imagine something that is no longer going to happen.
‘But once it’s all settled, I know this was what it was meant to be and that’s what the other mums say too, that they had a vision but now they wouldn’t change anything for the world.
‘I’m going to love every second. I love every second of my children and wouldn’t change a thing.’
