Woolworths shoppers spotted an “embarrassing” Anzac mistake in the supermarket’s bakery section.
One customer found a Woolies mud pie with the words “Let us forget” instead of the well-known phrase “Lest we forget.”
However, others took aim at the supermarket, calling it “shameless” for “trying to cash in” on remembrance day.

Woolworths’ in-store baking team occasionally accepts customer decorating requests for their popular mud cakes.
One customer found a Woolies mud pie with the words “Let us forget” instead of the phrase “Lest we forget.”
A bewildered shopper shared an image of the chocolate cake with the word “Come on” instead of “Less” on Reddit, angering hundreds.
“Nothing celebrates the Anzacs like a cheap mud pie from Woolies,” one user joked.
“Still better than ‘happy Anzac Day’,” noted a second.
But it wasn’t the typo that offended Australians. Many thought the cake was in “bad taste.”
‘Who buys a cake for Anzac Day anyway?’ “It’s not a party,” one user noted, and another agreed: “Even without the typo, the whole idea is pretty cheesy.”
However, many criticized the supermarket, calling it “shameless” for “trying to cash in” on remembrance day.

“Joking aside, this is really bad behavior from Woolworths. They are trying to make money off of what should be a respectful and dignified event but they couldn’t even get the right message across,” said a third.
One shopper thought there was something more behind the Anzac cake fiasco.
“I’m going to say it’s more likely that this is a corrupt staff member who thinks they’re doing something ‘noble’ but completely misunderstands the ‘vibe’ of Anzac Day,” they explained.
