Jesse Colburn 2003 – 2004
Avril’s first public relationship was with her teammate Jesse Colburn.
It’s unclear exactly when the couple first started dating, but they were pictured kissing in 2003, a year before Jesse left the band and the couple went their separate ways.
Jesse was 21 at the time while Avril was 18.
She told MTV News at the time, “He just wanted to do his own thing and stuff, and I mean, it happens.”

Shortly after her split from Jesse, Avril began dating Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley, and the couple became engaged in 2005.
The Girlfriend singer got engaged to Sum 41 frontman Deryck in 2005 and the couple married the following year when she was 21 and he was five years her senior.
The couple married the following year in a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony at a private estate in the California coastal town of Montecito, when Avril was 22 and Deryck was 27.
In 2009, the couple separated, with a source telling People that they “married too young.”
Discussing the news on her blog, Avril wrote, “We’ve been friends since I was 17, we started dating at 19 and got married at 21. I’m grateful to have spent some time together. time together, and I’m grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.
“I look up to Deryck and have a lot of respect for him. He’s the most amazing person I know and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are parting ways and moving forward on a high note.

Two months after splitting from her first husband, Avril was rumored to be dating That ’70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama.
The couple were spotted partying together in November 2009, with an onlooker telling People magazine: “There were other people at the table, but you could tell they only had eyes. ‘one for the other’.
“They were whispering all night, laughing and having a lot of fun.”
A source added: “They have been friends for a long time and have worked together before.”

Brody Jenner 2010 – 2012
Caitlyn Jenner’s son Brody was the next love of her life, with the pair seen on a double date with Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.
The duo dated between 2010 and 2012, but it was reported that cracks began to appear due to Avril’s intense touring schedule and their opposing views on marriage.
When they split, a source told Us Weekly, “It was mutual, but Brody really broke up with her.”
“He told her he was tired of always being her plus one and always going on tour with her.”

Avril walked down the aisle for the second time with Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger at a gothic ceremony in the south of France.
The couple tied the knot in 2013, a year after they started dating, but it wasn’t meant to be and by 2015 they had split.
Although they separated, the couple remained good friends and continue to spend a lot of time together.
Avril recently said of their unconventional split, “Chad and I are really good friends.” We remained close and he supports me to this day. So it was really special to have him there and help me.

Two years after splitting from her second husband, Avril was linked to music producer JR Rotem, who has worked with Rihanna, Gwen Stefani, Nicki Minaj and Britney Spears.
The rumors started when JR shared a cozy Instagram photo with Avril in 2017, where he called her his “bae.”
A source told E! News, ‘JR is a producer she works with. He is respected in the industry. Lately they’ve started hanging out socially and there’s definitely chemistry there. They are both so passionate about music.
The couple were also seen enjoying several cozy dinners, but had separated the following year.

The Canadian singer started dating billionaire heir Phillip Sarofim in February 2018 after meeting through mutual friends.
Phillip is the son of Texan billionaire Fayez Sarofim – the CEO of Trousdale Ventures, LLC, a private investment firm.
April kept their romance a secret for a year, shocking fans when she announced on a radio show in 2019 that she was celebrating her first birthday.
The couple separated in November of the same year.

Avril went public with indie rock artist Pete Jonas at a pre-Grammy gala in January 2020, but it’s unclear exactly when they started dating.
Inside the gala, the couple were seen holding hands and snuggling together on several occasions and the Complicated singer introduced her new man to a number of high profile celebrities, including Justin Bieber.
The two were first seen hanging out with friends in West Hollywood in November, the same month the eight-time Grammy-nominated entertainer split from billionaire boyfriend Phillip.
They did not announce their breakup.

Avril started dating Mod Sun in 2021 and their relationship quickly progressed, with the couple getting engaged the same year.
They shocked fans when it emerged they had split in February 2023 and Mod Sun said he was “blindsided” when the singer called him out.
The couple have separated after a two-year romance – with their rep informing page 6 he and Avril “were together and engaged three days ago when he went on tour”.
TMZ reported that Avril called off their engagement after the couple had been “on and off” for the past two months.
While what exactly led to the split remains unclear, the tabloid claims neither side was unfaithful to one another.

Avril shocked fans when she confirmed her romance with Tyga by sharing a kiss at the Mugler x Hunter Schafer party during Paris Fashion Week.
The singer, 38, and the rapper, 33, pursed their lips and moved closer to each other as he put his arms around her.
The couple had first been linked the previous week when they were spotted attending the Courrèges show and then arriving together at Leonardo DiCaprio’s party at Kuku restaurant in the French capital.
