Orange County, California, authorities have revealed the cause of death of Josh Waring, son of The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Lauri Peterson.
Waring, who was 35 at the time of his death on March 31, died as a result of a combination of fentanyl, methamphetamine and olanzapine, Orange County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Department officials said. TMZ Thursday.
Authorities ruled Waring’s death “accidental,” the outlet reported.
Peterson, 63, made the heartbreaking announcement about her son’s death on her Instagram account on April 6.
“It is with a heavy heart that I write this message to let you know that my dear Josh left this earth on Easter Sunday,” Peterson said. “No one can prepare you for this feeling of such profound loss. Every fiber of my body hurts.”

Peterson wrote that her son’s “childhood was filled with deep intellect, humor, pranks, athletics, snowboarding, bodyboarding, mountain hiking, reading, friends and his love of music.”
She said that ‘even during the difficulties of adulthood, Josh continued to maintain his sense of humor, continued to be optimistic, continued to be kind to others, stood up for those who couldn’t stand up for themselves, and continued to love his family very much.’
On April 6, Waring’s sister, Ashley Zarlin, posted a series of images of herself and her brother over the years on Instagram, saying she lost her “brother to the relentless grip of addiction.”
He added: “It is a disease that distorts and destroys, leaving behind shattered dreams and broken hearts.”
Zarlin praised Peterson for his “unwavering love and tireless efforts to support” Waring amid his battle with addiction, adding that he wished he “could have done more, been more, to help him find his way back to the light.”
Zarlin added: “He was brilliant and had unlimited potential, but addiction took him off course.
‘My heart aches for the missed opportunities to grow together as adults, to share laughter and dreams, the conversations we will never be able to have and the dreams that will remain unfulfilled.’

Lauri, who adopted Waring’s daughter Kennady nine years ago, took to Instagram on Friday with an image of her granddaughter celebrating an educational milestone.
Waring, who has had to deal with numerous legal issues over the years, is survived by her daughter Kennady, 12; her parents Lauri and George Peterson; and her sisters Ashley and Sophie.

‘The official high school student @kennadykaydence is taking her sass to the sixth grade!’ Lauri, who had appeared on the first four seasons of RHOC, said. ‘I’m so thankful for this shining light that keeps me going! I hope you have the best year yet!’
