Australia's women cricketers complete Bangladesh sweep in Dhaka

Tayla Vlaeminck has boosted her recovery from injury as the Australia women’s cricket team concluded a triumphant tour of Bangladesh with a 77-run victory in the third T20 international.

Bowler Vlaeminck took 3-12 from his four overs as Bangladesh were bowled out for 78 after Australia posted 6-155 from their 20 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Thursday.

The victory ensured Australia completed a clean sweep of all three ODIs and all three T20s on their tour.

It was just the 25-year-old Vlaeminck’s second game after two years away from the team due to a recurring stress fracture in his foot and then shoulder surgery.

Considered arguably Australia’s best quick since she was 18, she has been plagued by injuries since her Australian debut in 2018, playing just 29 matches across all formats.

Vlaeminck’s horror streak included three separate ACL tears at age 20, as well as a shoulder dislocation as a teenager.

Captain Alyssa Healy steered Australia to victory at the start of the tour finale with 45 runs off 29 balls as an opener, while Tahlia McGrath scored an unbeaten 44 off 29 balls batting at number five.

Georgia Wareham was the other multiple wicket-taker for the tourists with figures of 2-1 in 1.1 overs.
