The $201,600 in cash is currently being held by the NSW Guardian, while other belongings of the couple have been seized by police and the NSW Crime Commission.

However, although the hearing is only a few weeks away, questions remain as to whether they will appear in person, as Zakaria is still in Turkey and his wife now lives in Lebanon with their two children.

Zakaria, 27, allegedly fled the country in December 2021, just as an arrest warrant was issued for his alleged role in the attempted murder of rival gang member Ibrahem Hamze in north Sydney five months earlier.

Police believe Zakaria received a notice of their intent to arrest him and allegedly fled the country by traveling to Western Australia before taking a fishing boat to Malaysia.

After reportedly spending more than a year on the run, he was arrested in Turkey in January, and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) is currently in negotiations with local authorities to have him sent home.

Zakaria allegedly ordered his wife to falsify a series of documents about his annual income and employment history in order to obtain a loan to buy their sprawling home in Greystanes in 2019.

After pleading guilty to falsely stating income of $240,000, she was sentenced to a 12-month community correction order in April 2022 and the home was seized by authorities.

The New South Wales Crime Commission put the property up for sale in May last year; however, it went up for auction for $1.75 million before being snapped up by a buyer the following month for $1.8 million.

Following the sale, Ms. Zakaria allegedly left Australia for Lebanon, where other members of the Alameddine family currently reside.

Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting that Ms Zakaria is involved in her husband’s gang activity.

Zakaria’s father, Omar, was acquitted in January of charges that he hid his son’s assets inside his home.
