Aussies have shared the old products they’ve found lurking in their homes that have gone untouched for years or even decades.

A mother started the discussion after she came across minced meat in her freezer, which had an expiration date of December 18, 2009 on the package.

“Wow, has anyone else come close to this date? I currently suffer from insomnia, so I decided to clear out my freezer and make sausage rolls. Maybe I had the same idea 12 years ago,” she wrote in a Facebook group.

On closer inspection, she saw that the package contained details of 5,000 double movie passes up for grabs, with entries closing on January 31, 1986.

“I wasn’t even born then,” she said.
