Brittany unboxes Kmart's Air Styler, $59 on TikTok

Kmart Australia has launched a new curling iron that fans say is a “copycat” of the popular Dyson Airwrap – and it’s already sold out online.

The Air Styler costs $59 and promises to deliver salon-style waves and curls at home.

The styling tool comes with four attachments, three heat and speed settings, and a self-cleaning feature.

Brittany from the Gold Coast shared a TikTok demonstrating how to use the tool and was amazed by the results.

The 29-year-old has never used a Dyson Airwrap, but loves the springy curls from the Kmart styling tool.

“I can’t say no because I was never going to pay that amount for a Dyson,” Brittany said in the clip.

She doesn’t even know “who can afford a Dyson in this economy.”

While it was a learning curve to figure out how to use the beauty product, she was ecstatic with the purchase.

Her tutorial had a million views on TikTok.

Brittany, who was “obsessed” with the results of the hair styler, had purchased the tool when it was $69; Kmart now offers it for $59.

One fan thought Brittany’s “old Hollywood curls” looked even better than those achieved with a Dyson.

“I’ve been waiting for this day! I knew Anko was working hard in the labs to create this,” one excited fan said.

Another person was devastated after watching Brittany’s video, having shelled out an exorbitant amount to buy the Dyson model last week.

A third Kmart fan, with long, thick hair, took to Facebook to brag about the “chef’s kiss” product that hadn’t yet hit stores when she went to pick it up.

“A Kmart employee asked me what I was looking for, walked out the back and stumbled upon one. They hadn’t processed it yet to put it on the shelves, they’re going to sell out very quickly,” the shopper said.

The woman had previously used the Dyson model, which costs more than 10 times the price of the Kmart one, and confidently reported that there was “no difference at all”.

While one person said the Dyson Airwrap promises to protect hair from heat damage, they couldn’t deny that the Kmart Air Styler was a much more attractive purchase for its price.

“Thanks for sharing, buy now,” he said.

“Put yourself in my warm little hands,” said another.
