A customer was horrified to discover rubbish and food scraps strewn across a McDonald’s restaurant.
Jackie Zovas visited one of the fast food restaurants in Cheltenham, Melbourne, last Saturday when she was baffled by its “putrid” state.
She filmed the shocking scenes on her phone with images showing bins full of rubbish and tables littered with waste.
Food scraps and wrappers were also seen scattered on the floor and on kitchen benches as staff walked around them.
Social media users were left divided, with some criticizing the state of the restaurant while others encouraged sympathy for the staff who were clearly working during one of the busiest periods of the day.

Zovas said the McDonald’s was “super busy” when he first walked in and noticed there were only three employees on the roster.
However, she was “disgusted” and claimed that some of the items being delivered to customers had been under the heat lamp for “some time”.
“I really felt sick to my stomach to the point that I asked for my order to be canceled because I felt like eating this food would make me sick, that’s how dangerous it was for my health,” she said. yahoo.
Social media users were equally disgusted by the video, saying the standard of cleanliness had dropped in locations across Australia.
“I’ve seen this pop up in a lot of places,” one user wrote, adding: “Standards go down and prices go up.”

Other social media users defended the staff, saying those who criticized them had not worked in hospitality.
‘This shows that none of you have ever worked in busy service in a kitchen. You think food doesn’t fall to the ground,’ wrote one user.
Another wrote that the restaurant was clearly understaffed and said that “if they hired enough staff they would have time to take care of it during the night.”
A McDonald’s Australia spokesperson said the fast food chain is “committed to providing our customers with a great experience every time they visit one of our restaurants”.
“We follow strict cleaning, disinfection and hygiene procedures in all restaurants, including routine cleaning of the dining room,” the spokesperson said.
“We are working with the restaurant to ensure we continue to provide a safe and clean restaurant with a great customer experience.”
