Scoobie Doos were everywhere in the early 2000s, kids around the world called them by different names but fondly remember the schoolyard craze.

Millennials are in hysterics after a luxury Italian fashion house launched a high-end version of a two-decade-old DIY trend for kids.

Miu Miu just released a gimmicky $700 leather keychain that resembles a chic version of the colorful, woven “Scoobie Doo” keychains that every kid wore in the ’00s.

Satirical Instagram account missdoublebay posted a picture of the luxurious leather accessory online: “Evil doesn’t die, it reinvents itself.”

“Is the humble Scoobie Doo about to make a comeback?” he asked.

Fans of knitted keychains, also called gimp, boondoggles or floobiedoos depending on where in the world you grew up, remember the trend fondly.

Scoobie Doos were based on the traditional French “scoubidous,” knotted cloth laces that first became popular in the 1950s.

Modern keychains came in bright, neon colors and were the ultimate fashion accessory for cool kids, who made their own or asked their parents for help.

“They were a big hit with kids here in the Netherlands in the 2000s. Everyone at my school had them,” said one nostalgic fan.

Miu Miu's leather trick is designed as a bag charm.

Italian fashion house Miu Miu recently released a $700 leather hack that looks just like the original Scoobie Doo.

Instagram satire account missdoublebay made its followers laugh with a picture of the original Scoobie and the luxury designer keychain.

While some nostalgic Australians were “here to see” the trend’s return, others struggled to take Miu Miu’s pricey take seriously.

“I’ll take five,” one woman joked.

“Me too,” added another.

“Dad could have made a fortune,” someone else added.

People thought that, especially in today’s economy, it was better to just scrap the design version and re-manufacture it yourself.

“Honestly, if you’re that desperate, just buy a pack of Scoobies, braid your hair like this and save $700,” one woman said.

An Australian thought the return of keychains was at least a trend that suited everyone.

“I prefer this return to capri pants,” she joked.
