One disappointed Australian foodie criticized Wagamama for being “overpriced” and said the dishes had “no flavour”.
Calvin Chang, originally from Australia but now living in London, decided to dine at the Asian-inspired restaurant with his friend.
The content creator said he was “excited” to try Wagamama due to the number of influencers who praised it.
He filmed himself eating a colorful bowl of noodles and seemed unimpressed with his first bite.
Calvin said, “I’ve seen so many people get excited about this that we’re really confused.” Where is the flavor?

‘I literally had to dip mine in soy sauce just to make it edible. I know you say, “Oh, you just get what you paid for,” but no, it wasn’t cheap.
Calvin then captioned the video: “P.S. I know we weren’t ripped off…we just weren’t expecting the prices for the quality of the food.”
The clip racked up almost 77,000 likes and many users commented that they had had similar experiences.
One wrote: ‘What I thought most people in the UK (at least in London) knew was that Wagamama sucks, who’s lying to you?’
Another wrote: ‘Can’t stand Wagamama, terrible food, no taste at all. Also the price was ridiculous, the price of the food was stupid.
A third said: ‘I went once. Anymore.’ A fourth commented: ‘I know, it’s terrible, I don’t like it either.’
Wagamama used to have restaurants in Australia before 2014, when the franchisee, Edible Concept Holdings Ptd Ltd, went into liquidation.
Calvin said he was pretty upset with the outcome.

Around 200 employees lost their jobs as a result of closure after the franchise first launched in Australia in 2005.
Franchise partner Wagamama stores were not operated by the same UK-based Wagamama Group, but the two companies were thought to have worked closely.
Wagamama has been contacted for comment.
