Friends of popular Brisbane restaurateur Andrew Park have raised almost $240,000 in just one day to evacuate him to his home in Australia after he suddenly collapsed while visiting Thailand.

Park suffered a catastrophic health incident related to her diabetes in Bangkok last week.

As of Thursday afternoon, 395 donations have raised nearly $240,000 of the $250,000 goal.

Following the diabetic episode in Thailand, Mr Park went into cardiac arrest and had to be resuscitated, suffering a brain injury in the process.

Park is being treated at a Bangkok hospital, where he remains unconscious and in stable condition.

The Mycause page claims the family’s insurance does not cover Mr Park’s intensive care hospital treatment in Bangkok, nor specialist patient transport to evacuate him to Australia.
