Australian pop princess Kate Ceberano has shared a heartfelt tribute to her former big screen co-star Kris Kristofferson.
Kris, an accomplished singer, songwriter and actor, died Saturday at his home in Maui, Hawaii, at age 88, his representative said. People.
In the wake of the country music icon’s passing, Kate, 57, took to social media on Thursday to share some sweet memories about her former co-star.
Kate starred alongside Kris in the 1999 film Molokai, the true story of a 19th-century priest who travels to the titular Hawaiian island to care for lepers.

Captioning the post, Kate said making the film with the A Star Is Born actor was an “unforgettable experience.”
“Every day we flew to the set in a small plane,” he recalled in a Facebook post.

“He was an absolute sweetheart, handsome at any age and perfectly literate and sound like a great American naturalist. Think Henry David Thoreau or Walt Whitman,” he wrote.

Among his many acting achievements, Kris played the role of troubled rocker John Norman Howard in the remake of the 1976 film A Star Is Born alongside Barbra Streisand. He won the Golden Globe in 1977 for his work in the film.

Kristofferson’s other notable acting efforts include a role as the character Whistler in the Wesley Snipes action films Blade (1998), Blade II (2002), and Blade: Trilogy (2004).
He also starred opposite Ellen Burstyn in director Martin Scorsese’s 1974 film Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore.
His musical career began in the late 1960s, when the Brownsville, Texas, native wrote classic standards such as Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down, Help Me Make it Through the Night, For the Good Times and Me and Bobby McGee.
