The chief executive of Paralympics Australia (PA) has resigned for undisclosed reasons just eight weeks before the start of the Paris Games.
Catherine Clark’s resignation comes a day after the official launch of Australia’s Paralympic team in Parliament House in Canberra.
Clark has been absent since early June and the reason has not been disclosed to staff, a Paralympics Australia (PA) spokesman told AAP.
Clark resigned on Wednesday and PA staff were informed of his decision by the organisation’s chair, Alison Creagh, at a staff meeting.
The Paris Paralympics begin on August 28, following the Olympic Games in the French capital from July 26 to August 11.
In a statement issued to PA, Clark, who began his role in February 2022, did not elaborate on why he resigned.
“It has been a tremendous honour to be part of the Australian Paralympic movement,” Clark said in the statement.

Her decision comes just weeks before the Paralympic Games in Paris.

Cameron Murray, PA’s commercial, communications and brand director, has been appointed interim chief executive.
