Jakara Anthony has completed one of the great seasons in any winter sport in suitably brilliant style, the Australian freestyle skier sealing an incredible 14th World Cup mogul victory in 2023/24.

Now she is worried about getting all her trophies home.

In the season-ending dual moguls event at the Italian resort of Chiesa in Valmalenco, the 25-year-old once again defeated her biggest rival Jaelin Kauf to finish with 14 wins from 16 moguls events – seven wins each in the dual and singles formats.

“It’s seriously crazy,” Anthony said of his trophy-laden campaign.

“I’m going to have some major luggage problems getting back to Australia tomorrow.”

American skier Kauf beat Anthony to the finish by a hundredth of a second on Saturday, but the Australian scored heavily with his turns and aerial maneuvers to win by 20 points to 15.

It was her fifth consecutive final victory over the unlucky American.

Anthony successfully defended his overall moguls title with a whopping 1480 points – 416 from Kauf.

The Olympic champion from Barwon Heads in Victoria also took the individual crystal balls in the singles and doubles moguls with record scores.

Kauf finished second to Anthony in all three categories.

“The season has been absolutely crazy,” Anthony said.

‘It’s hard to put into words, I’m super proud of what I’ve been able to achieve with my team around me.’

Worrying for his rivals, the dominant Australian has already turned his focus to the future.

‘We’re going to keep ticking like we (have been), try to change things every year and get better.’

In the corresponding men’s event, Canadian great Mikael Kingsbury claimed his 90th World Cup victory and recorded his 10th triumph of the season to sweep the doubles and overall moguls titles.
