A group of Australian mothers share a do-it-yourself trick to get rid of annoying fruit flies forever – and you only need two ingredients.
Frustrated homeowners said they had gone to great lengths to kill the insects by cleaning their houses and even scrubbing their walls – but it was to no avail.
However, people swear by a ‘fall’ they have made in their homes, using a cup with a dash of apple cider and liquid detergent.
Many women said that the proven method pulls the small insects into the cup before they drown them.

“For those who suffer from fruit flies, mosquitoes or whatever this wild pain is … apple cider vinegar and detergent – this is what it caught in 30 minutes,” said a mother, next to a photo of the dead fruit flies.
A woman said she used the same trick, and she was able to get rid of an “influx of fruit flies” amid the humidity of Queensland.
‘I put some small dishes around the house with apple cider vinegar and a dash of washing up liquid and I caught so many. Recommend, “she said.
Another woman said she was pleasantly surprised that the trick worked after the ingredients had attracted more than 100 fruit flashes.

A woman said she was so fed up with the “annoying” fly that brought her home that she decided to do it.
‘I set a trap with apple cider vinegar and washing up liquid in the hope of catching this one nasty fly that circled us all night. It took about five minutes, “she said.
Another mother said that the use of balsamic vinegar with liquid detergent also works.
‘Glass jar with equal parts of balsamic vinegar and warm water plus a drop of washing up liquid. Place it in a warm place, “she said.
