Racing superstar Jamie Kah has announced that she and fellow jockey Ben Melham will take a wedding ride on the most romantic day of the year.

Kah shared the exciting Valentine’s Day news on Wednesday by posting a photo of her luxurious diamond ring while snuggled up to Melham.

Another photo showed the loved-up couple holding hands as they rode side by side while showing off the sparkling ring on what she captioned as their “best day.”

“Throughout everything you have been by my side from the beginning, here it is forever and always @benmelhem,” he wrote.

The final shot of the sequence was a bottle of Penfolds Grange premium wine with two glasses ready on either side for a toast.

The Sporting Base website was quick to tweet their congratulations, as were their supporters in the Instagram comments.

‘OMG, congratulations!!! Wow!! You two are like peas in a pod!’ wrote Australian Olympic competitive cyclist Amanda Ross.

“I can’t tell you both how happy I am for you, congratulations 1000 times,” another friend commented.

It’s been an eventful year for Kah, who was recently handed a 10-race suspension for careless driving.

It comes after a horrific fall at Flemington last April.

Both Kah and Craig Williams, another prominent Australian jockey, were thrown from their horses during a race.

Kah’s horse, Flyball, tripped over Veight, the eventual winner, causing her to crash into the grass.

Both Kah and Williams were hospitalized.

Kah was knocked unconscious and had to be heavily sedated, but fortunately she did not suffer serious brain injuries or skull fractures.

She took a five-month break from racing and made a spectacular return with a double victory in the Victoria Derby during the Melbourne Spring Cup carnival in November.

He concluded the carnival with six victories, more than double that of any other jockey.

In December, Kah was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Victorian Racing Court after images emerged six months earlier that appeared to show her wearing white powder at a dinner party.

The couple was seen riding hand in hand as Kah showed off her sparkling diamond engagement ring.

Last week, Kah paid tribute to Melham for his support during her recovery from the fall and during the December inquiry into the white powder controversy.

“My friends, family and partner Ben have been amazing, but I think my number one support was my horses at home,” she said.

“Number one was the horses to get through a difficult period.”

Kah was previously engaged to fellow jockey-turned-trainer Clayton Douglas, while Melham has three children with her former partner of 15 years, Karlie Dales.

The first public sign of Kah and Melham’s relationship emerged in June 2022, when a photo of the couple at Britain’s Royal Ascot set tongues wagging in motoring circles.

Kah has announced he plans to ride South Australian mare The Map in next month’s Adelaide Cup as a return from his suspension.
